Sometimes there are aspects of ourselves that have a very quiet voice.  It doesn’t matter if we’re an extrovert, if we’ve lived a spiritual life for over 40 years, if we’ve “found” ourselves or been walking our path.  There are parts of us that whisper, that need quiet, that wait until things are still to peek out and see if it’s not too scary to come out.  The inner wisdom within us sometimes needs us to not dig, to not confront, to stop meditating and planning, to just stop and be.  To get quiet with ourselves and do the things that make us happy and peaceful.

It’s in those quiet moments, the 8th or 13th or 20th of those quiet moments, where things start to float up to the surface.  Sometimes its an old feeling, a déjà vu, a random thought…just peeking out.  Nothing to see here, keep washing the dishes or putting together that puzzle.  That crossword puzzle looks really interesting doesn’t it?  Good book you’re reading?  Fabulous.  Just keep on keeping on because that’s what allows the quiet voice to feel safe, to feel nurtured, to feel secure that it can speak.  And what is has to say will speak volumes to the mysteries of our soul, to what happened “back then” and why, to why we do the things we do and that we have the chance now to change it or utilize it or just cherish it.

The quiet wisdom within us can grant us the biggest aha moments we might ever have.  The way to achieve them is not to strive, but to be present, quiet, patient, and really listen…
