Dreaming is the fun part. We see the end goal, we bask in the glory of achievement, we think about what life will be like once we get there. However the middle part is kinda vague.  You know, that part between where you are now and where you will be when you achieve your dream?

I know, if you’re dreaming right now and you actually want to make that start happening, then you should focus on starting where you are, right?  Yep, that’s the best way to go.  I’m right there with you and supporting you all the way.  Go team Dreamer!  However, as hard as it is to get started, it’s even harder to keep going.  Every single ‘reality’ show about weight loss will tell you that and any “where are they now” show will show you that it doesn’t always work out.  If it were easy to stay the course in working for a dream, we’d all be living in our own dreamlands with our own versions of bliss going on all day long ever day. We’d spend all of our time dreaming new dreams, getting up, then making them happen. The world would be awash in perfection and happiness.

But it ain’t so.  Achieving something means that you’ve not only done all the hard work to get there, but, hopefully, you’ve done what you needed to do each day to keep yourself from the despair of thinking it will never happen, the agony of doing ‘just one more thing’, the small things that keep your hopes up and reward you for what you got done in that moment without sabotaging yourself.  Stick with it.  The route to achieving your dream may not be the one you planned on taking.  It may not look like what you thought it would.  It may take you places you never expected.  It may show you parts of yourself you didn’t know existed.  But stick with it.  Dreams are worth it and so are you.
